Daylyn Osborne

The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Daylyn Osborne (2027) from the HFL as National Player of the Month for her remarkable play in June 2024. Daylyn Osborne, a versatile player for Vision Gold 09, excels in pitching. Her June stats include a .313 batting average, a .440 OBP, 4 doubles, 2 singles, and 4 RBIs. Through 58.2 innings pitched, she had 86 strikeouts and a .619 ERA.

Daylyn Osborne’s softball journey begins at the age of 6, when she first steps onto the field. Although she starts playing C-level ball, it’s not until after her first year of 12U that her real growth begins. She starts working with pitching coach Mike Harper at the age of 9, and his belief in her potential fuels her drive to succeed. Mike teaches her that with hard work and consistency, she can achieve anything in the sport. In November 2020, Daylyn tried out for an A-level team, where coaches Anthony Merryman and Bryan Wyman recognized her talent as a pitcher and offered her a spot. She’s been with the same team for 7 seasons, and they’ve become a close-knit group. Most of her teammates live within 20 miles of each other, so they practice together regularly and often hang out outside of softball. The competitive spirit runs deep, especially since they all play against each other in high school ball, making for some exciting games.

One of Daylyn’s most cherished memories in softball is winning the TCS Texas State Championship and Top Club Nationals. Though she has many great memories, this recent victory stands out as particularly special. Her team is relatively new on the national stage, and competing against such talented teams while making a name for themselves has been an unforgettable experience.

Daylyn’s favorite player is Reganne Bennett, a sophomore pitcher for Michigan, who has been her mentor for the past year. Reganne is someone Daylyn can turn to when she’s having an off day, and Reganne’s advice always helps put things in perspective. Through Reganne, Daylyn learns the importance of “patient hands” and how to focus and get into her zone before each pitch. These lessons have made Daylyn a better player, both mentally and physically.Outside of softball, Daylyn enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially outdoors. She also volunteers with her little sister Hadley’s softball team, sharing her passion for the game and giving back to the sport she loves.

Daylyn’s athletic goals are clear: she strives to continue developing as a pitcher and contribute to her team’s success at the highest level. She is determined to keep pushing herself, honing her skills, and making an impact wherever she plays. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Daylyn Osborne on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
