The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Olivia Trombley (2024) from the RMFL as National Player of the Month for her remarkable play in May 2024. Olivia Trombley, a versatile player for Colorado Batbusters National, excels in multiple positions—including first base and pitching. Her May stats include a .450 batting average, a .500 OBP, 4 homeruns, 5 singles, and 17 RBIs. Through 18.3 innings pitched, she had 22 strikeouts and a 0 ERA.
Olivia Trombley’s softball journey begins at the age of 5 when she first steps onto the field, inspired by her mother, a pitcher who becomes her role model. Olivia grows up watching her mom, developing a love for the game that she carries with her today. As she plays, her admiration for her mom’s athleticism fuels her own passion to excel in the sport.
One of Olivia’s most cherished softball memories is winning the USSSA 14U Nationals. The victory stands out as a defining moment in her career, a testament to her skill and the team’s resilience.
Olivia’s favorite player is Jennie Finch, a legendary figure in the world of softball, whose accomplishments inspire her on and off the field. Outside of softball, Olivia enjoys staying active through CrossFit, binge-watching TV shows, and spending time with her friends—activities that provide a balanced break from her athletic life.
Olivia has big goals for both her softball career and her future beyond the field. In softball, she aims to make a significant impact on her school team, contributing to their success. Outside of sports, Olivia is focused on her education and aspires to earn her doctorate degree, showcasing her commitment to personal and academic growth. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Olivia Trombley on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.
Olivia’s coach, Joe Smith, describes her as “an absolute beast of a player and a great competitor.” He praises her for carrying the team through the month of May with consistent big hits and a dominant performance in the circle. Olivia is not only an outstanding athlete but also a dedicated student, set to play at Towson University in the fall. Her coach also notes that she is an awesome teammate and a joy to coach. One of their favorite memories together is from the previous year when Olivia played a pivotal role in securing a spot for her team in the Alliance Tier 1 bracket. In the regional final, Olivia throws a shutout and hits a home run, helping to propel the team to a crucial win—a moment that solidifies her place as a leader on and off the field.
What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
