Every time I got the opportunity to visit, it felt like home. The coaches and players were so welcoming and when the opportunity to play there presented itself I felt like there was not a better option for my future.
Aubree Munro, her story is very similar to mine in the aspect of coaches under estimating her in her childhood. I was always told I was too small and skinny, which she was told she was too skinny, and she worked to become one of the best catchers in the game. I try to model this aspect, such as dedication and motivation, of her game in mine.
I have a twin brother. My older brother is a Clemson graduate and my twin will be attending Clemson in the fall, so we have a house divided through the ACC.
I want younger athletes to look at my game and know that I was not born with the ability I have now. You have to work hard to get where you want to be and in doing so rewards come. Younger athletes should know that dedication is important for success in our game.
My freshman year of high school, my high school softball team won the 2019 South Carolina 5A State Championship. I had the game tying double and did this along two SEC commits at the time (Allie Light and Hannah Kumiyama), who pushed me to become the player I am today.
