Kiera Drilak Named Alliance National Player of the Month for June
Story by Bradynn Belcher (‘26c)
The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Kiera Drilak (2029), hailing from the NEFL, as the National Player of the Month for her remarkable play in June 2025. Drilak, a versatile infielder for Ohio Outlaws 2011(14u) Popowitz, excels at both third base and shortstop. Her June stats include a .647 batting average, a .667 OBP, eight singles, two triples and three RBIs.
Drilak’s softball journey began at the age of six after years of watching her older sister play. Thrilled to finally share the sport she admired from the stands, she joined an 8u team to develop her skills and soon began competing alongside her sister in both travel and recreational leagues. For four and a half years, the two shared the field, pushing each other to work hard and improve. Her parents also played a major role in her development, leading family practices and encouraging her growth. While she misses playing with her sister, Drilak is excited they will reunite on the field for high school this season.
A cherished softball memory for Drilak is winning the championship of her first 10u tournament after being seeded last. Individually, Drilak was 2-for-3 with bunts while playing alongside her sister in an unforgettable 10-run rule championship victory.
Her favorite player is Mia Scott from Texas Tech University, and outside of softball, Drilak enjoys playing volleyball, competing in track and field as a jumper, and playing saxophone in the school band.
Drilak’s goals are to earn both athletic and academic scholarships, play Division I softball, and graduate high school as valedictorian. Drilak’s selection as Player of the Month reflects her remarkable achievements and steadfast pursuit of excellence, and The Alliance Fastpitch is proud to recognize her accomplishments.
What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
