June 20, 2023 – The Alliance Fastpitch announces our 2023 Alliance All-Star Team! The Alliance All-Star Team consists of the top 40 senior softball players in the Alliance Fastpitch. These athletes will compete in our third annual Alliance All-Star Game powered by Under Armour to be played July 23rd at Cal State Fullerton.

Alliance All-Stars are selected by our national committee spearheaded by Derek Allister, founder of OnDeck Softball and representation from all Alliance Member Leagues. The selection process begins in the Fall with an initial Watch List and is then narrowed down to League All-Star Teams. The top 40 Alliance athletes are then selected from the League All-Star teams.

Every All-Star athlete is signed to play DI college softball starting this fall. All Power Five conferences will be represented with the Pac-12 (9 athletes) and SEC (7 athletes) leading the way.  Here is a breakdown of the Alliance All-Star Athlete representation.

  • At least one player from all eight Member Leagues
  • 23 different travel ball organizations represented
  • 27 different colleges All-Star athletes are signed to
  • All Power 5 conferences represented
  • Four mid-majors represented
  • Oregon, Kentucky, and Louisville all have 3 All-Star athletes signed

One of the key partnerships that makes the All-Star Game so special is our presenting sponsor, Under Armour, and the effort the global brand puts into making the All-Star Game a night to remember for these female athletes. Under Armour outfits every athlete and coach competing in the All-Star Game. Athletes will receive head-to-toe apparel and footwear including packages for training, competing, and recovery. This year’s uniforms will feature the Alliance branding and custom pinstripes. Under Armour provides our athletes with an All-Star experience in the pre-game festivities including a decked-out locker room, player swag bags, and female athlete-centric experiences like hair braiding stations.

The DeMarini Whisper will serve as the Official Bat of the 2023 Alliance All-Star Game. Prior to the All-Star Game, DeMarini will host a Home Run Derby featuring several All-Star hitters and additional top 16U and 18U power hitters. Fans will enjoy a full day of festivities and entertainment leading up to the All-Star Game.

The All-Star athletes are divided into two teams — Alliance American and Alliance National. The National Team beat the American team 10-9 in the 2021 Game and the American Team beat the National Team 4-0 in a pitcher’s duel in the 2022 Game.

Last year, the Alliance All-Star Game featured 11 athletes who would become Top 25 Finalist for National Freshman of the Year. The American Team’s starting pitcher, NiJaree Canady, won National Freshman of the Year after a phenomenal freshman season at Stanford that ended in the WCWS Semi-finals. Over 7000 live fans and over 80,000 live ESPNU viewers have watched the last two Alliance All-Star Games.
