Rosario Simko Named Alliance Fastpitch National Player of the Month for July
The Alliance Fastpitch proudly names Rosario “Rosie” Simko of the Heart of America Fastpitch League as the National Player of the Month for her stellar performance in July 2025. Representing Athletix 2012, now transitioning to Outlaws Fastpitch Premier 2k12 for the 2025–2026 season, Simko shines as a powerful outfielder with a deep love for the game.
In July, Rosie posts remarkable numbers at the plate, including a .625 batting average, .625 OBP, 6 singles, 1 double, 6 RBIs, and an OPS of 1.687, proving herself a consistent offensive force in clutch moments.
Rosie’s softball journey begins at just five years old with tee ball. Her early passion for the game earns her a spot on her first travel team, Pride, at the 8U/9U level. As her skills evolve, she joins Athletix, where she spends three formative seasons building close friendships and falling even deeper in love with the sport. Now, she looks ahead with excitement as she enters the next chapter with the Outlaws 13U Premier team.
Among Rosie’s most cherished softball memories is hitting her first over-the-fence home run during the Outlaws Invitational, helping her team take the lead in a pivotal game. Another unforgettable experience comes during a trip to the Shriners Clearwater Beach Tournament, where she watches elite college athletes in action and visits the University of Florida softball stadium—home of her favorite team, the Gators.
But perhaps Rosie’s most meaningful memory stems from Sunflower Saturday, a tradition she adopts and shares with the softball community. Inspired by the University of Florida’s tribute to a young honorary teammate lost to brain cancer, Rosie brings the tradition home to honor her own team’s connection to Melina Michelle Edenfield, a 4-year-old who passed away from a pediatric brain tumor. Rosie’s team begins wearing sunflowers during tournaments in Melina’s honor, culminating in the Choose Joy Softball Tournament, where nearly 600 athletes from 60 teams wear sunflowers in her memory. The initiative even receives a heartfelt note of support from Florida Gators Head Coach Tim Walton, recognizing Rosie’s impact and leadership.
Off the field, Rosie admires Kendra Falby, centerfielder for the University of Florida, and dreams of one day wearing the Gators’ orange and blue herself. When she’s not on the softball field, Rosie stays busy with volleyball, track, crafting, and spending time with friends and family—all while keeping her grades up and learning to balance her schedule with discipline and pride.
Rosie’s goals are clear: continue excelling in school, make her family proud, and someday play collegiate softball—ideally at the University of Florida, the school that’s inspired her from the very beginning. The Alliance Fastpitch celebrates Rosario Simko for her passion, perseverance, and heart, honoring her as a deserving National Player of the Month and a shining example of what it means to Choose Joy.

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, League Leadership receives and reviews a detailed stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL). Based on this report, the committee selects League Players of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
